Hi Christine,
First off, I really like the whole look and layout of your portfolio/ blog! It feels very classy and modern. After reading your first story in your portfolio, I have to say I really enjoyed it. The way you translated the story and characters from the original story into a more modern setting of something like The Bachelor was well executed. I have not never watched The Bachelor but I hear good things about it and reading your story made me feel like I was watching The Bachelor for the first time! Also, the way you wrote the story made it flow very well while keeping true to the details of the original story. The twist of Peter ending up with all five Pandava ladies was very interesting and made me wonder how things would play out and be received if something like this happened in real life on The Bachelor.

Hi Christine,
First off, I agree with Khang and love the look of your website and portfolio. The neutral colors are so inviting and organized well. I loved your first story after reading it, I am such a Bachelor girl. I love how you interpreted modern-day story and plot into an old Jakata tale. It made me laugh when the Pandava sisters find out they all are marrying Peter no matter what and that their efforts to be the best were in vain. I also loved how you had Peter and Chris Harrison be characters, as well as including all of the girls from this season. It didn’t feel like an old tale. I wonder if it would’ve felt more like the old tale and tradition if I didn’t have personal knowledge of the characters you included instead. Overall, I think it was a really great story and you did a great job of putting your own twist on the assignment.

Hi Christine!
It took me longer than I’d like to admit to figure out how to leave this comment, but I’m here now! I really like the look and layout you were able to achieve with OU Create, and the personal photo on your homepage is absolutely stunning! Your first story is VERY well written. I’m not a huge Bachelor person normally, but the modern twist was a nice adaptation. You mentioned at the beginning of the story that it had been hometown week on the show. I really want to see how the girls’ families reacted to them all being sister wives rather than having one winner! Was Kelsey at all bitter that she has to share “her” man? The only critique I have is that the old dialogue/vernacular don’t really mesh well with the modern setting for me. Is there a way you could adapt the phrasings and bring it into the 21st century? Overall a great job! Keep it up!

Christine,
First off, I would like to say that I very much enjoyed the overall aesthetics of your cover page, especially with the inclusion of emojis alongside the text. I also appreciate the usage of your specific font in your stories as well as on this comment wall that I’m typing in right now. I don’t know why, but it does gives me some form of satisfaction typing it in this font!
In terms of the stories themselves, I really appreciated your adaptation of the epics stories to a modern scenario of the reality TV show! I would’ve never thought about doing such an adaptation, so great work on the creativity of the project! I do wonder though, what if there were more inclusion of visual stimulation alongside your stories? Since it is a reality TV show adaptation, I would suggest that you intently accompany the stories with more images that would help stimulate the readers and help them visualize the context more clearly! Otherwise, top points for the creativity and I look forward to reading more stories from you!

Hey Christine,
First, I like how honest and simple you are in your introduction. I think having a place to put your favorite stories can be a great way to showcase your writing skills and share your work with others. I also really like the layout of your website. The simplicity and the cleanliness of it make me want to continue to read your work and also make me anxious for more. I remember reading your first story when I commented on it on your blog and I remember LOVING it! I personally really enjoy reading stories that interest me and that I already have some understanding about. I love your second story just as much as the first! The connection you made between the Pandavas and the Avengers works really well. A way to modernize your portfolio even more would be to use modern pictures rather than the traditional and original pictures. I think completely painting that modern picture for the reader can help them understand the stories as a modern day one. Overall, I really enjoyed your project and I hope you add another story so I can come back and read it!

Hi Christine!
First of all, I love how this portfolio looks. You have a very simplistic and very contemporary styles with the bright colors that I really vibe with. Also, I just saws that that was an original photo, and I just thought that was so cool! For your first story, I thought you used such a great modern twist of the Mahabharata story. And what better dramatic inspiration to draw from than the Bachelor– and with the girls name of this ridiculous season… it was perfect! Also, I loved this original story, and I chose to rewrite it for my own portfolio project as well. I thought it was such a unique way to end the story, but I was left wondering how the girls felt about all of it. It sounded like they really wanted to be with Peter, but at what cost? Was this true happiness to them? Fantastic job!

Hey Christine,
I just finished reading your work in your portfolio and enjoyed all of the ideas for your stories. The change of setting brought a fun modern vibe to each tale and probably more interesting than the older takes to readers today. I also thought the layout and color scheme of your portfolio was very nice. Every aspect of your work shows effort and grace with thoughtful author’s notes and stories that have no trouble with length or depth. I also did some zany settings and character changes in my own storybook and found it a lot of fun. I hope you did too!
